Rockola model 1458 Troubleshooting

Yesterday purchased a Rockola model 1458, manufactued in 1958. The juke powers up and I can get the record carriage to rotate under power manually. However, nothing happens when a coin is inserted. I am going to order a service manual but I was wondering if someone could give me a few pointers on what to check in the meantime. The juke is in really nice condition inside and out and has not been abused so I'm hoping this is just a minor issue. If it helps, I also tried manually activating a set of pins to see if the juke would respond and go to that record but still nothing happened. I'm new at this and hope I'm making sense but any help would be sincerely appreciated.
