LPC480, lubricate, do you remove the play mechanism?

by FixitDad » Fri Sep 16, 2016 6:58 am

I can't find a reference in the manual that says one way or the other. I've got the lubrication guide, but other than removing the entire mechanism, I can't figure out how to lube/pm the clutch other than removing the play carriage, and I can't find an instruction on "how to remove" it.

The LPC series is one of the easiest, Seeburg models to lube--simply remove the rear panel, and run the mech down to the right--
With a "Valve-spout oiler" ( which you can purchase) there is no need to remove the rear panel. It would be my suggestion that, if you do not have one, a copy of my 'Seeburg Mechanism Guide", would be helpful. (PM me to purchase, if you wish) Ron Rich

Thanks for the advice, Ron. Also, I sent you a PM. Please let me know if it didn't come through.

Nope-- No PM--to send a PM to anyone, click on the person's name--that will take you to "user stats"--scroll down on the right side you will see "send Private Message"--click on that and write it, then click on "submit". Ron Rich

of course, Ron is correct. but i will say this - every time i go ahead and pull the mech and put it on a clear work bench, i'm a lot happier about seeing what i'm doing. i'm totally new at this, but i'm starting to get a handle on how the whole thing works.

nevermind the groans and occasional curse words as i carry the thing across the room and try to set it down...

but if you just want to lube and move on, it can be done!

i never did find a spout oiler in my neighborhood... let us know if you find one!

Thanks for the feedback, babycat.

I've added this to my jukebox toolbag: http://e-slotcar.com/racers-edge-1-2-oz ... p-re-3000/

I've got a couple spout oilers in my garage I'll press into action if I find this doesn't work as expected.
