This is for Ron Rich. Ron, I just noticed an LS-1 with the dollar bill changer on ebay. $149 and no bids yet, on the East Coast. Don't know if you were still looking for info on that or not.

The bill acceptor is worth more than the jukebox.

Yeah Ron, I suffer from CRS a lot too. Anywho, someone was looking for info on the bill changer. The auction is over but maybe it will be relisted.

From what I understand, those old Seeburgs and Rockolas used a "tray style" bill acceptor manufactured by Standard Changemakers based on a design by Ardac.

Ken, and all,
The DBV in that model was not worth two cents when it was new !--It was built by "Transmarine" who later changed their name to ARDAC, Then was purchased by "Dixie-Narco", then sold back to the owners of ARDAC. I did warranty service for Transmarine/ARDAC on non Seeburg units, along with "normal repairs" on all of them. I must have "tossed" hundreds of the Seeburg DVB-1, type in the dump !
The next model (DBV-2) was way improved and very reliable, and could be retrofitted into an LS-1 or SS-160. (still have a few parts left for them (DBV-2) if anyone wants em, contact me off forum---) Ron Rich

Those must have been models previous to the Ardac MK8 (a.k.a. SSTR series). I still own some of the specialized test/adjustment equipment for the MK8/SSTR series tray bill acceptors.

Ken,
Yes, they were the "forerunners"--I still have the "stuff" for the MK8 also--

My LS2 has the remains of the optional dollar changer. The cash box and optional power supply are still in the cabinet, disconnected. Was it common for options like these to simply be removed after they failed?

Yes---or the unit may have been used in a newer model, to void purchasing a new unit-- Ron Rich
