Hi, I have a Magnavox Continental High Fidelity stereophonic turntable.
It has a radio on the front panel with a place to store records below, with a separate speaker on legs, it is black with gold accents.
Does anyone know what the value of this may be?

The value, or what you can get for it, depends on its condition. Have the components been replaced/restored? Does the turntable/phonograph/radio work? What is the cabinet like? Any scratches, dents, etc.?

(Perhaps one of our "electrical era experts" can interject???)

YES! That is exactly the one I have! I don't have the narrow middle section, or the gold stand, but the rest is there. The radio works, i'm not sure about the turntable, it was left when we bought our house. I just want to get it out of the house and want to know what I should sell it for!!

Ok, sorry, it is in storage, and after I looked at it, it is not the exact one as the picture, but very similar! Mine has two pieces, the lager piece has the turntable, radio, storage, etc. it opens on the top left for the turntable, and the front left for the radio and storage area. The smaller piece, shorter and narrower, is the speaker, I guess. Each piece is on it's own legs, and they are not connected.
There are a few flaws on the black wood trim on the door, and the gold on the front panels, is somewhat rubbed off in places, but overall, it is in good shape.
So, again, if anyone can give any input on a good selling price, I would appreciate it!

The most value if you cant sell it is the amplifier in these. very dual channel with 25 watts. the matching speaker unit should have the identical amplifier in it. These are seen on ebay and have a very nice sound to them. You can pull them out and selll them on ebay as a pair should get $150-250 a pair. most people shy away from the consoles because they are too big and where they are to put them. I know these units inside and out. I never pay over $50.00 for a console like yours but also dont like to see them destroyed either. A good Idea is note about the area where you live so if anyone at this sight is interested (maybe me) in looking at it.I also have a brochure for the '57 line that shows all the styles they come in. the speaker unit was usually purchased the next year when stereo was hitting the market.

I live in Hawaii, so probably not very easy for most people to see it!
