Hi Ron, I read the manual until my eyes crossed. It does make more sense each time I read and do something. However, I found that I was unable to fix the problem. I took the unit ti Warren Rowe. I glad I did because I met one of the finest persons I have met in my 68 years. Now, he didn't have an easy time of it either. Turns out some micro switch(s) that are hidden from view were bad, He got to the problem and the 2800 works flawlessly as I type.

Thanks to all that chimed in on this thread. I wish I could tell you exactly what Warren did, but suffice to say the wishbones did not behave due to some micro switch problem. No adjustment would have fixed that I could see.

Now I do have a new question. Each play starts out at a lower volume and builds to the proper volume I have selected within about 5 or so seconds. Is that a feature of the 2800?

Hi Zeke,
Glad you "found" Warren--I hate to admit this, as I've known him for at least 40+ years--but, he IS, one of the "good guy's"--Oh, S----, iffin he happens to read this, I'll never hear the end of it, as we talk on the phone often--guess I'll have to deny writing this !!
As for what your WurliTzer is doing now--that's "normal" as the AVC activates. You can check your needle landing adjustment, and control it, somewhat, there--Landing further out on the records, will lessen the time it appears to take, to build the audio back up. It also might be that the amplifier AVC circuit is getting old and tired.
. ( "Back-off" the adjusting screw, if possible--remembering all records were NOT, exactly, built to the same standards--so if you go too far, some records may not "start").
