ANTIQUE HMV NIPPER DOG - OR A MODERN REPRO?

Does anybody have any idea if this is genuinely old? He is about 15 inches tall and seems like a resin type material. He sits on a dark base. He has seemingly yellowed with age but I'm unsure of this authenticity,
Many thanks in advance,

The very old ones were made from plaster, I believe, so I don't think it too old -- probably from the late 1960s/early 1970s, especially if it's made from some type of resin plastic. There one that looks identical--same detailing/same base--on this site:

"Nippers," from all eras, are highly collectible, and come up for sale from time to time on eBay and other sites. There's also a book available about them -- http://my.athenet.net/~nipper/page1.html

I have a paper mache Nipper, 36" tall, back and feet are rotted out. Is this worth anything? It is definitely from 1930's or so, but needs much TLC and restoration. Glass eyes, photos on request.

There was a time when a good papier mache dog might have been worth between £500-700. Nowadays you'd be lucky to get £200-300 for a REALLY nice condition example. In the condition stated above, I would GUESS that you might get anything between £50-100 on Ebay as long as you are prepared to post 'Worldwide' and will accept full responsibility for further damage.

Hello, I would love to see photos of your Nipper dog if you still have him? If you do still have it is it for sale? Please let me know, and thank you for your time in advance. rc

I also have a Nipper dog for sale. This is one of the originals- plaster- purchased many years ago from a garage sale over here in New Zealand. However, our son tried to forcefeed him a vegemite sandwich when a baby (son, not dog), and with our shifts, he also sustained a bit of damage. Therefore, I needed to get him repaired. As a consequence, he is now pristine, as per the photo*. I know it's best not to get things "fixed" but the fact remains, he's an original in really good nick! Any idea of value?
