Hi, Newbie here. We as a ROC community acquired this model (SS160 Seeburg) from somewhere in Northern Florida. Having some background in mechanical and electrical I and another individual have accepted responsibility for the unit. It is quite dirty and has not played for a while. We started it up and it played random plays for an evening then started to repeat plays over and over and doesn't go back to indexing. We just got a manual out of UK and after breezing through it seems a good clean and lubrication is the first order of issue. It seems to me in the short time we've had the manual that the Toroid memory is not being reset and I am wondering if any one can point us in the direction of items to check. Are there plungers, or other mechanical switches involved in the reset process that lubrication cleaning may do the trick. Thanks for all and any input.

Questions ?
Did you read the"Information" and "Stickies" posted above ?
Why did you get a manual from the UK ?
If your manual is a good copy, and you had read it, you would realize, that the phonograph will not detent, until the Tormat has been "reset".
