Seeburg 101 write in problems

Hi all,
I am Lars and owner of a Seeburg 101. I recapped the TSR-6 selection receiver ( with stepper ) and the amp, dissabled the mech and oiled and lubed it as the Seeburg manual stated. I also cleaned and adjusted every contact ( reversing switch , detent switch, stepper contacts etc. ). The box did not come with the pricing unit so I bought a free play credit unit.
the box has the typical scans twice plays nothing failure. I have the service manual and did the tests til Test J ( open the link between Testpoints D and E and connect the Seeburg test lamp there. The lamp should glow and does not change if the pricing unit plug is been pulled ).
The lamp does not glow with the pricing unit plug connected to the selection receiver but it does glow if I pull the plug.
As stated in the manual I should replace the receiver because of a write in failure. I replaced all resistor in the circuit and the diode has -147v on one side and no voltage on the other, so it should be okay? the write in capacitor has also the correct voltage.
the latch bar solenoid does not energize but I can hear a clicking noise from inside of the free play unit if a button ( either number or letter ) is pressed.
Any help would be appreciated. Sorry for my English - I am German.

Your English is great !--
Question--on the "free play unit" --is it set up for the "correct" pricing unit ?
You can set the jukebox for the other type unit, if the free play unit is not the same as your juke.
Most of those units do not energize the latch bar solenoid until you push one "key" down.

Hi Ron,
I asked the seller and he told me that the unit is the correct one. It is for the L100, 101, Q100 and Q160. It should be for the tes101 key board.
I wondered because the 101 uses the same selection receiver as the 161 and 201 - the tsr-6
If i push a button the solenoid does not engergize as it should. I also replaced the jumper in the stepper unit from spu to dpu with no success.
If I open the link between Testpoints D and E and pull the pricing unit plug, I can measure -150 V between them but if I replace the plug there is no voltage.

Lars,
There may be "jumpers" on that keyboard that need to be changed also--I don't remember that keyboard, so look in the service manual-- Ron Rich

The Box plays now the selections A 1-10 and B 1-10, it was a bent number contact ( 0 ) so that no selections could be make.
I have to check the C contact later.

All selections are working !!! Now it is time to recap the amplifier.
Does someone know a replacement for the 2N109 transistor?

What did you find on the selection problem ?
Why do you want to replace it ?--they are still available in the NTE line. If yours is bad, and you can't find a replacement, write again, as I am not near my replacement guide at the moment. Ron Rich

Hi Ron,
it were bent sliding contacts ( number 0 and letter C ) in the electric selector. That was your first suggestion but I measured the resistance
the wrong way
I want to replace the transistor because it looks bad and is easy to do. Is there any way to measure if it is good or not?
Do they fail often?

If it has sound it's good, no mater what it "looks like"--I would not change it, they are very dependable--They do NOT like heat !
