Hello again,

since my last issue got solved but was replaced with a new one here I am again...

A week ago I selected a record that was to be played on the A-side on my Wurlitzer 2000.
Something happend which happened a few times before.

The lift arm didn't lift the arm and record high enough, so when the turn pike moved towards the record,
instead of pearching the center hole of the record it jammed the record between the pake and the plastic plate.

This created a total lock, so I pressed the rest button and the arm lowered itself again.
Never to rise again...

Upon trying to play another A-side of a different record, you can clearly hear everything moving,
and the record comes out a few milimeters, but it stays there.

The B-side of any other record still gets lifted properly.

So here I am, again... any thoughts on what may be wrong this time ?
I already opened the jukebox but with my little knowledge of the machine I can't find anything wrong this easily.
Also, it is quite difficult to come near the mechanism since there is a lot in the way inside the machine.

Hi Nick,
As you probably know, the mechanism used in the 2000, is unique, in that it was never used in any other model. It was their first 200 select model. That being said, if my memory serves me well, the lift arms arms operate exactly as do the lift arms in all other models. They are "lifted" by spring force as the "lifter" is released from the cam. Therefore, it is my guess that, similar to all 200 select models, this was equipped with moveable lifts (aka "Duckbills"). If this is the case, the Duckbill on that side has been knocked over and is preventing the lift arm from traveling up. This is a (too) common occurrence, which can be prevented proper lubrication. If this has happened, you will need to determine what, if anything is broken on the Duckbill, and replace it. I believe the service manual covers it ??

Finally got around to opening the jukebox again and taking some pictures.
The problem was the latch, as seen in the picture with the arrow.
It should be between the two brackets, but it was out and lateral, thus blocking the upward movement of the arm.

2 pairs of hands managed to flip it back between the brackets and after tightening the screw the problem was fixed !
luckily nothing got broken, which is nothing short of a miracle I think...

The black plastic parts you are calling "brackets" are what's often called "duck-bills". There are only two ways that adjusting arm (latch) can get bent-Either the basket did not stop in the correct spot ( check the operation of the back-stops--MUST BE clean/dry), or the arm is not returning all the way--Oil is the cure here ! You got very "lucky" this time--changing duck bill is a PIA ! Ron Rich

Indeed it would appear the record basket is a bit "out of line", since a record got jammed again today.
the lift arm was completely retracted, but the record was hanging a bit askew, and didn't fall into it's place.

Luckily there was no next song selected so nothing bad happened, though records have gotten jammed that way before.

I'll dig my way in the manual to try and overcome this.
