MRA5-L6 Seeburg 'R' question

The schematic and parts list (issue 3, pages 4055-4056) shows resistor R62 (8 ohms, 7 watts) connected to the tweeter and a 2 mfd cap. Is this reference (R62) a separate resistor or the speaker coil resistance? Schematic is confusing since prior schematic version (issue 2, pages 4055-4056) does not show the resistor R62 but does indicate 8 ohms for the speaker.

If there is suppose to be a physical R62 resistor, where would it be located in the chassis? My amp s/n is 72,921 so I believe issue 3 of the schematic, with changes from the prior schematic, is the correct one to follow.

Steve, speakers are never listed as "Rs" or resistance. That designation is only for discrete resistors. In this case the resistor is probably located at-near the speaker to pad it down....not that there was much treble in the original cart or records.

Speaker "resistance" can not be measured ! Speaker voice coils, are measured in "inductance". Unless you have a "Wheatstone meter" I know of no good way to measure them. Using an "ohm meter" is just an educated guess, which usually will get you "close"--but not necessarily "the cigar". I would therefore assume that Rob is correct, in his post above ! Ron Rich
