wurlitzer 2304 tone arm

every one says to make the adjustments by putting juke in play mode but no record . i have tried that but what happens is the tone arm feed in screw stays to the back of the fork the latch bracket so the tone arm isnt floating freely . when a record is playing the tone arm feed in screw floats in the middle of the fork latch bracket ? thanks

If that's happening, you are clearly, not following the step x step "Service Manual" directions.
This can NOT happen if directions are followed--RTFM. Ron Rich
