Wurlitzer 2300 turns but not record

I have a 2300 that is experiencing a problem and I don't know how to fix it. Basically, when I turn it on, the turntable wher ethe record should be just sits there and turns but there is no record being played. When I select a new song, the machine makes the noise of selection but the table doesn't turn nor does a record come up to play. It's as if it thinks it is playing a song and just keeps turning. Anyone every see that before? Any suggestions?

it is difficult to diagnose what is wrong from your description. try rejecting the record even although there is no record playing. try making a selection by popping up one of the levers on the lower part of the mechanism. Best advice would be to buy a service manual.
