Drop-in replacement for BA-5 or BA-55 bill transport?

Well, I have an OBA control unit installed in the R-86 jukebox and just got a bill transport/acceptor/validator (looks like an OBA-2) in this morning, and it doesn't fit the bill acceptor slot on the jukebox. The kit that my 'R-86 accessory equipment' booklet says to get is BA-5/55, #2-66971-12, but that kit apparently isn't easy to find, while OBA-2 acceptors are. Are there any bill acceptors that are easy to come by which will fit into the r-86 bill slot and work with the OBA control unit, which has a 13-pin connector from the control unit to the transport?
I do have two other options, if there isn't an easy and inexpensive way to deal with this:
#1: Mount the bill transport to the right side of the unit and using some painted plexiglass for the cover
#2: Build a separate sidecar which would house the bill acceptor, control unit, and stacker.
Why I like option #2 better: It gives me more flexibility with the bill acceptor and stacker, not to mention will allow me to install a custom token setup wired with the normal quarter mech harness and act as a quarter. I already have an imonex token acceptor, for pinball machines and arcades and would just have to figure out how to mount everything where it will hit the switch accurately and have a coin bag or box.
I also have a bunch of extra OSB, from my addition build. A door made from plexiglass would be used for the front most likely, and everything could be connected using lock n mate 7 or 9 pin molex connectors = 2 wires from the coin mech harness (since it's going to be registered as quarters only, not dollar coins, half dollars, dimes, or nickels) 3 wires for power, and 2 for the bill acceptor.
I could also paint the sidecar to match the jukebox, maybe even do some custom stenciling, which would make the two pieces match.
Of course, this would have to be done in my spare time, as I have too many other projects that come first. Surprisingly, I can't find any information of a jukebox sidecar ever being home built.
