i searched the forum, and could not find how to do this . i think i can disable the solonoid that rachets the gear in the credit unit but,,,, is there an easy way? . and its not my box, so any advice to buy a owners manuel wont help. thanks.

Hi and welcome,
This is one case where having a "service manual" would be of no help--remember you are dealing with a "Coin Operated Phonograph", that was never designed to be played for "free". In order to jury-rig it for free play, I usually remove one screw from the subtract relay, and simply spin it so it can not strike the credit wheel when fired. Be sure to tighten the one remaining screw well. Ron Rich
