If You're Gonna Have a Collection...

We went to Arighi Bianchi in Macclesfield this afternoon, it's an upmarket furniture store, to by another recliner chair.

Anyway, we had a coffee and cake in the café afterwards, to help me get over the (cash) withdrawal symptoms.

I've probably mentioned this before.

This AMI 200 is in the café, in immaculate condition as it has been beautifully restored.

This Rock-Ola Tempo 200 play was elsewhere in this large rambling store, a bit like a rabbit warren.

I've posted this one before, its in a less frequented area..

There's also a Wurlitzer, 1015 and a "One More Time" (vinyl).

The owner is a jukebox enthusiast, They're all set on "freeplay" on a pretty low volume for customers to play with. He tends to swop them around from time to time. I think he has more at home. He wouldn't part with any of them.

What a lovely find! I don't believe I've actually seen a vinyl jukebox in service before. Closest I've come is a Seeburg CD jukebox in a rock club in London, which was clearly made to look like a vintage vinyl juke.

That Ami is gorgeous, sadly financially out of the reach of "normal" folk in the UK I suspect...5k minimum at a guess?

There's an AMI 200 on eBay at £7.75K

I would consider these, which have had everything possible done, including complete re-chroming. would set you back nearer £!0K than £5K. I've tried them all and the mechs "purr like a Rolls-Royce."

Great looking units, thank you for sharing. I noticed the Wurli 1800. My friend Mark and I enjoy playing around with these old jukes. We picked up an 1800 that was in pieces and ready for the land fill. Electronics, selector, chrome and cabinet was all restored. We spent a lot of time working on this unit and here is a link to the finished product.

I personally think that the Wurli 1800 was one of the best looking units ever produced.
