How to Operate a Vintage TV or Radio

by Joe_DS » Mon Sep 21, 2009 6:12 am

I came upon this today and thought I'd pass it along, since it provides some good advice, especially for those new to the hobby --

Operating a vintage TV*** -- some things you should know:

Operating your vintage radio:

Operating your vintage radio -- (small AC/DC types):

***Though analog TV is part of the history books, I've heard that it is possible to use a digital converter box, even with some of the very old sets, with proper adapters.

Joe,
Thanks for the links--very interesting--although I dis agree with a couple of his statements--On TV sound, for instance--It's STILL "bad" at times, with a "modern" TV working off either cable, or "Direct TV"-- (this makes me"crazy" at times when I can hear it well, but can NOT understand what's being said--Other times, when a "commercial comes on" it "blows me out of the room"--). I also think that his "safety warnings" are VERY true, but somewhat unclear--- Ron Rich
