Need some opinons here.. If I am looking for a vintage machine, most likely a portable or table top style to play serious music mostly on, what phonographs might I be looking for. I see the orthophonic victor electrics for sale, and some 45 speed similar type bakalite machines.. The hardest part even if you can find a decent one of course is having it restored properly which I am at the mercy of others to do.. I would really like to be able to play all three speeds, but would conside a 45 only machine also.

I prefer Magnavox made after 1959. The record changers are durable and easily repaired, and the amplifiers are well built and have good sound.
