Hi!
Is there any where to have an old record player (changer) motor rebuilt? It's a stackable player. Everything else checks out, idler grips good. Motor will hardly turn.
Thanks!

Usually this means that the motor bearings need to be cleaned and lubricated. Dust collects on them over the years and gunks them up, and the lubricant dries out.
Usually #30 non-detergent oil is best for record changer motors.
If you find it necessary to take the motor apart to clean and lube it, there is a trick to getting it back together so the bearings align:
1. Assemble the motor, but leave the screws loose. You will find that the shaft seems to be stiff.
2. Apply power to the motor.
3. Tap the motor frame with a screwdriver handle. The motor should start running.
4. While the motor is running, tighten the screws.
