Seeburg HF100R Selection Mechanism

by PTL8GRANDKIDS » Sat Apr 04, 2015 6:47 pm

Hi everyone, I'm having a new issue with my Seeburg HF100R. When selecting a record, the mechanism does not move immediately. Within 20 seconds or so it takes off and selects the proper record. This occurs often. Preston--Syracuse NY.

Hi Preston,
If this happens with "the first selection" it can indicate several things.
1. The SA unit "washers" are "dirty"
2. The "play control relay" is having problems --slow to energize, and/or contacts are pitted.
3. The single wire that connects the SA Unit to the ES has a "dirty contact".
4. The service switch ( either one) is failing to pass current.
A quick fix is to check item 2, and 3, then "exercise-burnish" all 100 "pins", in the SAU, several times with your hand ( as explained in the trouble shooting guide).
