Hello,

My in-laws have a Magnavox Console stereo that does not have a needle for the turntable. I'm trying to figure out if I can still buy a needle for this turntable. They think they bought the console in the early 1980s but could be late 1970s. It has an AM/FM tuner, casette player, and turntable under a hinged center board that lifts open. I've found a paper label that I believe may be a serial number. It's 4601U251E. Can anybody tell me a model number for this console and more importantly a brand and model of needle for this counsel. I've attached some photos.

Serial Numbers are of NO importance with electronic items - they are simply a number that's used to identify the manufacturing order of said equipment.
The MODEL number is on the same label, or ink-stamped on the back.
However, the stylus could be one of several depending on the early/late production.
A photo of the changer, in particular of the cartridge itself in the tonearm, would be of more help here.

Additionally, after decades of neglect, it's wise to have the changer serviced as well, due to dried up oil and lubricants, as well as deteriorated rubber parts, critical to the proper operation of the mechanism.
