Vernon Dalhart's grave site

A while back I decided to see if I could find the grave site of the prolific recording artist Vernon Dalhart. After a bit of searching, I found it in a cemetery in Bridgeport CT. Appropriately the cemetery is not far from the old Columbia Records pressing plant, and Vernon's final resting place is quite close to the graves of P.T.Barnum and Tom Thumb. He is buried under his birth name, Marion T. Slaughter. This is no frills, there is no headstone, only a marker.

Thanks for the response. I've used the "Find A Grave" site quite a bit. It was quite useful tracing my family, even providing a hint that helped me trace my heritage back to the "old country".

The sad thing about Vernon Dalhart's grave is how unremarkable it is. It's actually quite hard to find and there is nothing that indicates who he was or his level of fame. I drove past it several times before I noticed it.

Contrast it with P.T. Barnum's grave sight which is line-of-site from Dalhart's. The monument for Barnum is over the top and larger than live. Like the man who is buried there I suppose.
