Seeburg FC1

Hello, everyone.

I'm new to phonoland and to jukeboxs. I acquired a functional Seeburg FC1 with keys and alot of 45s.

From what i can tell, almost everything works.
Cosmetically a few lights on the lift up and front panels are out along with some dings
The actual function of the machine is what i am having trouble with. The coin mech works, the selector number pad works, the light up scanning mech works other than the number "7" in the middle digit. The selector is working as well.

But when it plays an album i hear skipping and some popping noises. i am not exactly sure what is the problem but i would think the needle needs replacing.


I truly appreciate any advice.

Hi Marcus,
Do you have a copy of the "I & O" Manual. If so, make sure the four 9/16 nuts are run all the way up, and the "bass reflex" screws are installed, and the suspension is properly lubed and adjusted. If it "hummmms " when the needle is lifted from the record, it has amp problems--best shut it off as it WILL cause major damage. If the hum stops when needle is ifted, it is a mechanical problem--

i ordered some and they should be here next week.

in the mean time can you point me in the right direction as to where the bass reflex screws are? would be great to work on it a bit before classes start next week

Rather difficult to do without a "picture"--but I'll try--
Look to the left of the DRD on the slide that holds the mech, above the mech pins--
You should see two 1/4 in hex head screws--the bass reflex screw has a larger head, and is centered between those two screws--same on the RH slide--
HTH--but you really should wait till you have read the manual-- (and IMHO, my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide")-
