Hi Cory,
Thanks for this--Interesting, but--I have never "dinked" a record in my life -- and doubt I ever will
Unless you have , and/or plan to use 33 rpm records, why don't you just dis-able the "speed shift" on the turntable ?
Would think that should be easier ( and I am a basically, lazy person !)

Hi Corey,
No--not if the "speed shifter" is dis-abled--this would keep the drive wheel on the 45rpm section of the armature at all times--

Oh i see what you mean there for locking the speed. But as the 45 records we get in australia only have a small centre hole and in the USA they have a large hole. This means i need to cut the centre out of the record so it will fit on the turntable. This is what i am making.

Cheers

Corey,
I may be mistaken, but most all 1050's I think I've seen can handle either sized hole ? Stick a small holed record in the basket, select that slot, and watch what happens ?? I believe the TT will function perfectly at 33 rpm ?? Let me know-- Ron Rich

Corey,
I also live in Australia and the large holed records from the USA cost a fortune in shipping costs.

I bought a dinking tool and use it for records to put in my Wurly 1700 and Seeburg C.
These jukes have no option and must use the larger holed records.
The dinker works fine, I just take my time.
I hope your homemade dinker works. My only concern would be that it cuts cleanly and leaves a smooth finish on the records.

Regards
Gordo..

Gordo,
ALL Seeburgs from the 1949 model M100 B, thru the last 1986/7, SMC-4 can handle either holed record. Early pre model AQ, machines must have the clamp arm disc replaced to do this "successfully", and some models, that are equipped with a clamp arm switch, require the switch be modified, or dis-abled.
As for the Wurlies--the whole turntable assembly CAN be changed to the later type--but, this would be a major task ! Ron Rich

Thanks guys,

Hopefully try it out tomorrow, i will try on some old records first and see kind of hole i get. If it's a bit rough i may need to source a finer tooth saw. I have a raised section on the securing shaft on the bottom that the record sits over to hold it centre and the drill will slide into as well, the poly casing should also hold the saw steady.

See how we go!

Cheers

Hey Guys,

Another update, the dinking tool worked perfectly. Have approximately 30 records far with no breakages. Fingers crossed it stays that way. I
have also made the new drive spool for the turntable motor, i now have it running at 45.4rpm. The juke is functioning fine so far, i have it accepting coins, selecting pins, and playing.

The amp is functioning fine but seems a little fluttery at times. It's there a cap kit can be put through this amp?

Cheers

Hi Corey,
Glad you have it working !
As for a cap kit-probably- check with the listed suppliers above --
I don't work on them, but I think that there might be several mods., strongly suggested, for the original amp used in the 3700 models. You might check the "flippers" web site (listed above) for more info --
