I recently bought a Stanton 500V3 replacement cartridge for my Rockola 440. The cartridge was too big to fit on the tone arm so I am going to have to return it. Is there any updated cartridge replacement (i.e. better sound) for the Shure M44 that came with the Rockola? thx

The Stanton line of cartridges are standard 1/2 inch mount - virtually all magnetic cartridges are the same way.
I don't understand your "fit" problem of the cartridge being "too big".
Could you explain in more detail, perhaps add photos?

Sure - here's a pic. The space between the two screw mounts on the tone arm is not wide enough. The previous cartridge fit between.

Latest update - just got a email from the vendor. Looks like this cartridge mounts the other way around. The previous one fit between the two screw mounts so I assumed this on did too. Guess not.

Ron, what you are seeing is someone trying to install the body of a cart (w/o) styli) upside down on an arm.

Sooner, or later this person would have realized that even he used long enough screws to accomplish this, the stylus would be upside down and would not fit.

This makes the backwards carts in AMI arms look understandable....sort of.
