Rockola 481 Memory

Hi all,

Merry Christmas to everyone.

My friend has a Rockola 481 which is suffering from Memory loss (a bit like me at present). It is a 1981 model and is playing well except for the loss of memory. It is set on freeplay as no coin gear is installed.

When I enter a number of records, the juke sometimes plays all those that were selected but often only plays one record and then stops. Other selections do not play (althought the screen accepts them when selected). It generally will only play 1 song in a row.

I was advised to change the battery, however, I thought that once power was on, the battery would not make any difference (I don't know where the battery is located).

I don't know where to start looking to fix this as it's annoying to only play one record at a time. I don't have a service manual.

I am stumped, any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time,

Cheers

Gordo..

Hi
Its nothing to do with the battery, its probably the logic board, i had a rockola 477 with this problem, and i replaced the logic board and sorted it out even though the jukebox would pass the logic board test outlined in the manual, you could also try and replace the ic's on the logic board, not sure about their availability

Thanks for the reply. Any idea where I may source a logic board?

Thanks

Gordo.
