Reversing relay repair question

The mechanism in my LPC480 stopped reversing and I soon found out why. The wooden looking part that holds the long blades in place on the reversing relay has broken along the edge where it attaches to the frame.
Is there anything I can use to glue this back together and buy myself some time before I have to order a whole new relay? I've thought about Gorilla Glue and epoxy, any other thoughts? Remember, I'm new at this and don't have an extensive parts bin to pick through, although at this rate, the LPC might just be the first donor.
Thanks,
Thom Smith

Hi Thom,
If you are in fact talking about the reversing RELAY, not the reversing switch, yes--almost any "glue" can be used to re-attach it back to it's original position. That material is "Phanolic" (sp?). I have successfully used "model airplane cement" there many times--also I have used epoxy. The "secret"is to get the Phanolic in the correct position ( a 45 degree angle to the metal armature, FIRST). If the armature won't "sit there", I have used a very small drop of "crazy glue", to hold it while I apply the other glue to both the top and bottom edge-- Then WAIT the length of time as per the instructions on your glue package --and an extra hour for good luck--before, applying power !!

Ron,
I'm certain that it is the relay and not the switch. Here's a picture of the relay unmounted with the plate removed.

Here's a picture of the plate.

Thanks for the glue info.

Yep--attsa the relay--fix it as I said to, and it should last "forever"-- Ron Rich

Ron,
Seems to be holding for now. Might actually order one from jukeboxusa.com as he seems to have that subassembly listed in his catalog, worth a shot. I'll order a 2050 at the same time for the TCC.
