Wurlitzer 2910 Transfer Switch

Hi: New Member to the forum. I hope someone can help with this issue. I have a Wurlitzer 2910 jukebox. The transfer switch went bad (over-center spring came out, bakelite broke and one contact broke off). Before that, the jukebox worked fine. I bought a replacement switch that is a double-contact, double-throw switch with bracket and six spade terminals in the back. I put it in as directed and I can't seem to adjust the activation screw correctly -- the unit, when I have the screw backed out to press a button and play a record will play fine, after it places it back in the holder, it picks up and plays it again. It continues to do this over and over. If I turn the screw in a little bit (about 1/2 turn), then the record will stop after it is done playing...but when you press the selection button it won't do anything unless I back the screw back out again. The select solenoid is engaged but nothing else happens. I don't know if this is a wiring discrepancy or if it is another issue. I have a manual and the open and close contacts in the wiring schematics don't match the wiring of the new switch. The man who sold me the switch said to wire it as if you had turned the old switch up 90 degrees and that is how I wired it.
I appreciate any help you can give.
