GE Record Player

All functions of this player work except when the last record is dropped from the spindle the player shuts off without the record being played. Ideas?

Likely the record support arm is bent upwards.
People pull on them by the end near the record, instead of properly lifting by the pivot at the rear.
This bends the arm upwards. - eventually leading to breakage of the arm.
Records should be level over the platter with the arm on them.
The Internet is a marvelous thing, however it's not a good substitute for actually being there.

I bent the support/follower arm up just a tad and it seems to be working better. Thanks!
