V-3WA-D ....Buttons won't latch

Just received my first Seeburg WOM, which I purchased to setup with the IPOD adapter sold by Datasync . The unit powers up fine, and recognizes coin "drops", but when the indicator lights show "make any selection" I can't get the alpha or numeric keys to remain depressed when making a selection.

I purchased what I thought was a service manual from Victory Glass, but turns out it's only an install and operation group of pages.

I'm hoping not to get flamed, but can someone possibly point me in the right direction as to where to start troubleshooting this problem?

Thank you

You will need to get a copy of the service manual, and check out the operation of the cam-cam follower, and lock bars--just remember that it was written 60+ years ago, when those boxes were new--be sure to lube as described in the manual--BEFORE, you "adjust anything" !

Mr Martin, when the green "any selection " the wallbox wiper blade should be in this position:

http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... rt=2&o=176 -Forming a slight "V" with the carryover field adjacent to it.

If it fails to step-up, check these contacts:
http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... rt=2&o=175 -Your box may have fewer blades (there were at least 4 different versions) but look for a set with one long blade between two short blades.
-At rest: (no credit) long blade contact with the outer short one.
-Credited: long blade makes no contact with either.
-Sending: Long blade contacts innermost blade only.

Later-on I suggest cutting this wire:
http://s1192.photobucket.com/user/Rob-N ... rt=2&o=177 -The wire on yours may be different color but it will be soldered at the junction of the latter and number pulse rivets. I do this because for some inexplicable reason, Seeburg routs the signal line into the credit unit and this often causes a direct short when two credits are established.

Per Ron's suggestion; use a light oil on all bearings to begin with and later a drop of 20wt on the same bearings and gear teeth. Don't forget the cam bearing as well.

Thank you very much, Rob and Ron. I will continue my search for a service manual, as well as follow the suggestions provided by you both.

Thanks again.....
