Rock-Ola 477 Voltage measuring points

by UNCLEBUCK » Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:43 am

Hi all, i guess i am the newest at the moment to the forums. i have just purchased a 477, and also purchased a service manual (repo)in an attempt to get this working as a wet weather project. I seem to be missing power everywhere apart from 9.6V. the Schematics are not great at showing voltages and pins to measure at. when switching on, i have no Mechanisms moving and i have no led selection or credit display or keyboard illumination, yet i have the led display on the hit tracker showing all the 0's.
on the Power Supply, all three LED's showing the voltages are lit. the mechanism does not start or move when placed into the scan position.
according to the troubleshooting guide, i guess i should start with the Credit unit board. it lists this followed by the logic board, regulator board, play control relay, magazine motor and lastly the Mechanism power board.
does anyone know of a way of checking the boards in situation before purchasing board after board?
thanks

Unclebuck,
If you can read the schematics, there should be voltages listed on them. What you will need to do is find out what voltage is missing and where. There is no point to buying "board after board" as your problem could be as simple as a plug not "making", and all you will find is used boards--
If you don't have the ability to read schematics, you will need to find someone that does, or hire a "pro" to do the needed repairs. Ron Rich

Having gone through the manual, I find that there is no power supply regulator board schematic, and apart from a few components being shown leading to the Mech Power supply board, i am unable to check it fully. can anyone confirm the resistor value R216 shown on the schematic as 22K is meant to be 10K as mounted on my board?
Also, does anyone have a board schematic showing correct values of all components
