More eBay Nonsense.

I look through the listings of jukeboxes on eBay every now and again, more for amusement at looking at the daft prices some people want for their machine, than for any other reason.

Anyway, I spotted a 507 wall box which the vendor said had had the mechanics removed, then had the brass to say that it could be used in an iPod conversion and then linked my YouTube video!

I politely told him that he was misrepresenting his item, but he wasn't having it until I threatened him with reporting him to eBay. This did the trick and he removed the listing.

Hmm..

He's put it back on eBay with a link to my video and included a "whinge" about "someone" (he can only mean me) complaining about his previous attempt at glossing over the problems anyone would face getting his box to function with an iPod.

So I've put a warning at the front of the information I posted about this wall box on the YouTube clip, to the effect that conversions of incomplete wall boxes aren't simple, so need some technical expertise and can be costly.

So suck that up chum.

I've also removed the facility of adding comments to the clip.

The general "desperation" and "laziness" of todays society often shows with things like this.
I see it a lot.
People want gains, (read Goldddiggers) yet don't want to invest in some work - stealing others ideas, materials, etc.
The quick way is to utilize the internet's wonderful database - hell, it saves time and effort.
A couple of mouse-clicks, and voila, you're done.
Now you can sip cocktails, and text all day long to your friends all the jibberish your thumbs can handle.

But indeed, having material on the internet - you know the old saying: once it's posted to the net, it's up for grabs for anyone.

On another note, I've had to "modify" a Seeberg wallbox for a customer.
They wanted to utilze the speakers in it - as extention speakers from their main stereo system.
And of course, having it "light up" as well.
It's certainly not a job for amateurs.
