Wurlitzer 2410 help

by JimboD » Sat Jun 16, 2012 2:34 am

I bought an operational Wurlitzer 2410 about 3 months ago. Everything worked fine. Last night I played several records. I may have put my selections in too quickly because it stopped letting me use the keyboard. It always ran free play. I got the idea of inserting a quarter and each time I did so, it allowed me to play a song.

Once I turned the machine off and back on, the amp would not power up. The fluorescent lights come on, but none of the tubes light. I tested all the fuses and they are fine. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot are appreciated. Oh yes, I have paperwork that shows the amp was rebuilt in February.

Thanks,
Jim

Hi Jim,
First--you can not input selections "too quickly" - that phono is designed ( like all jukeboxes), to MAKE MONEY--there-for, any slow down costs money---
I would hazard a guess here that you had a full price register, and you must have used it up--
On the second problem--is EVERYTHING except the lamps "shut off" ? If so, the safety switch on the "fan", that covers the turntable is open--you probably have a slightly jammed record part way up/down, on one side or the other--
Do you have the Service Manual--if not, check the announcements section above for "where to find---" Ron Rich
