SMC-1 PRVC

by MrGorf » Sun Mar 30, 2014 9:39 pm

I just installed a PRVC in my SMC-1 and noticed I can adjust the volume pot up and down when no record is playing, but with a selection playing it won't adjust. Is this normal or is something not correct. IIRC my LPC-1 would adjust while playing a selection.

Thanks
Don

Hi Don,
That's a "simple fix"--
You have the black/white wires "swapped". Just reverse those connections--usually in the control head--
BTW, be 110 % sure, that there is an insulator installed, inside the control head !!!!!!
Now all you need to do to have "the best Seeburg ever made", is to order and install one of my new generation, replacement, computers, for it---PM me, if you wish--

So much for double checking my work.
Ron - if I didn't know better I'd swear you were in my basement looking over my work. I did have the two wires reversed - AND in the control unit. Guess I got a little confused with the positioning of the white dot on the terminal board (weak excuse).

Thanks very much
Don

P.S. My original computer is still scraping by, but it's only a matter of time before I'll be ordering a replacement.
