Pride & Joy: 1940 Rock-Ola

I have a couple of items that I consider a "Pride & Joy". This one is my 1940 Rock-Ola Luxury Lightup Master. This machine has never been refinished and looks like it just came out of the factory. It is 99.9% complete, with the original keys and all. The only thing that is not original on the machine are the plastic panels that covered the record labels. They were so curled up and deteriorated that I had to replace them. The only part missing is one of the heat activated color wheels that goes in the pilasters (anybody have one?). Other than that it is complete and works like a champ.

My wife, who has always been the voice of reason on things that I want to buy (i.e. she says "No"), was with me the day I found this. Someone in the town next door put an ad in the paper with the description "Jukebox for sale". When I called and asked what kind of jukebox it was, he said, "The kind that plays records" (um, yeah). So I went to see what it was. When he opened the garage, this is what I saw. My wife elbowed me and said, "Buy it". That might have been the only time she actually TOLD me to buy one of these things. I'm glad I did.

On that wheel you need, didja check with the used parts suppliers (aka "usual suspects"), in the "Jukebox" section,of this forum? Probably available somewhere ! Ron Rich

You're supposed to change those pointy things? I always wondered where all that black dust came from every time I played a record!

I checked with all of the common jukebox parts people for the color wheel but never posted a request on this forum. Good idea. I'll give that a shot. Thanks.
