Seeburg LS1

Hi all
I am new to this form. I am a Rowe man but today I took a Seeburg call. It is an LS1 once you enter the selection the turn table motor starts but the mech never moves. If I move the service switch to stop and press the button twice the TT motor stops. Where should I be looking?

Look at the tone arm--is it on the record---or if no record in the slot, is the clamp arm in the open or closed position ?
Did you try the (end of record) reject switch located on the service switch assembly ? Also--look at the 8/10 amp fuse on the amplifier--if blown, replace it ONCE, ONLY, with the right size fuse--if it blows again, amp repair is needed ! Ron Rich

There may not be a record in the first slot.
I pressed all the buttons on the service switch panel.
I looked at a fuse on the box to the left of the mach It looked good but I did not test it. As I recall the amp was on the bottom right? Is this fuse under a twist cap?

OK--I no idea what you re calling "a fuse box"--Yes, the Amp in this model is located on the RH bottom, cabinet wall, and was equipped with a GMQ 8/10 amp fuse, which is a special, red, "twist cap". From what you are now saying, I assume that the problem is mechanical. A lack of, or improper lubrication, will cause this to happen. Find any Seeburg manual, and locate the (detent) release lever. Lifting the lever should cause the mechanism to enter the play mode--at which time, if you are lucky you can use the reject button (marked as so on the service switch assembly) to reject the record, and maybe work all right till such a time that it jams again--or it may not----. Take the mech out of the machine but before you slide it out make shure you remove the program floresent light or it will break.Spray the mech down with carb cleaner and relube the clutch and mech gears with light grease.The previous reply is a good starting point once you are shure the mech is not stuck.
