When I got the machine nothing worked . After a little work, mech. capacitor, fuses, and some other small things, it lights up but the mechanism sits and spins and does not scan. It cycles through, lift arm comes up, clamps then repeats the same over and over. Any help would be useful I have had several jukeboxes and have had good success repairing them. This one is a tough one.
Thanks
Frank

Hi Frank,
Got the service manual ?? Which way is the reversing relay -energized or DE-energized ??
Did the mechanism "pick" this record, or did you lift the detent release lever ?

Hi Frank,
OK--I ASSUME that you mean the reversing RELAY, not switch ?? If so, with the power off, un-lock the reversing relay mechanical lock, then turn the power back on. If it is in the "play position", you will need to push the cancel button, and the phono should go into the scan position, and begin to scan. To determine what happened, you can read "between the lines", in the service manual, or read my "Seeburg Mechanism Guide". Should this situation repeat itself, look at the TMU "A-1 rivet"--look to the side of it for "carbon build-up"-- Also check the value of the resister that is located either on the reversing SWITCH, or just to the right of it. Being new to this I don't know what the tmu is . otherwise tried your instructions. no difference the mechanism seem to be locked in place. I checked everything I could to find the problem but it still does the same
Thanks

Hi Frank,
Time to sit down and read the service manual--then you will know what the TMU is--
Was/is, the reversing relay locked, or un-locked ??

after thinking about it for a while i remembered what the tmu is i was calling it tcc. the relay is energized .ihave manualy released it but it goes back down when the clamp closes it will just keep cycling over and over spins, pick arm moves to the top, clamp energises then it resets and does it again.

The TCC and TMU are two different items--
Turn power off--looking through the "inspection panel"--
Flip the reversing switch arm over to the right ( BOTTOM of the arm facing right as you face the phonograph), be sure mechanical lock, on reversing relay is un-locked, turn power on, and phono should go into scan position--may need to push cancel switch first- Ron Rich

Hi Frank,
I am not understanding your info ?
You claim the reversing relay energizes when the clamp arm enters the turntable ? Are you 100% sure ??
Does it release when the clamp arm is removed ??
How are you attempting to use the service switch to stop the motor ??

i can raise the mechanical lock ,it relocks after the mech starts in motion . I was tring to use the service switch to see if it would scan, it does click a relay when i put it in the scan psition but nothing else happens
