Electrohome Chippendale 3 console radio

by halfdays » Mon Dec 25, 2006 9:33 pm

Hello:
I purchased an electrohome chippendale 3 console radio. does anyone have any information as to how old it is? I can guess that it is from the 1940's. The tuner is also very stiff, does anyone know how to free it up? I would like to restore this unit to its original condition. I would appreciate any information. From what I can gather when I turn on the unit, it still works (crackles and pops)..

Thanks in advance and I wish everyone a happy holiday season.
Tim

I would say the dial cord pulleys or shafts have lost their lubrication.

It's also possible the dial cord is off its track.
