Wurlitzer 3700 microphone

by Trogdor » Fri Apr 01, 2016 3:50 pm

I have a 3700 with the remote mic kit but cannot find a mic with the 4 pin configuration required. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

"Trogdor" the Wurlitzer kits that I have seen all used an Amphenol MC4M (male) plug. Two pins are for mic: one is the 'hot" the other is chassis ground. The other two complete the coil circuit to the relay in the module that switches the mic preamp into the audio chain.

Since this is a transistorized preamp it probably works best with a low impedance mic of approx 600 ohms or less.

If you have a schematic it should be a simple matter to trace the connections. Be careful though, you don't want to put the relay coil current through the mic element.
