RockOla 481

by Gordo » Thu Jul 04, 2013 1:00 am

Hi,

I'm trying to help a friend who has a RockOla 481 Jukebox.

It plays the first selected song and once it completes the juke then return to resting position, it does not play any more selected songs from memory. Each song must be selected after one is finished. ie it loses it's memory.

However, if I reject the song before it is complete (using the reject button) it will play the next song selected in the memory.

I have tested the logic board (as advised in the manual) and it tests as it should. It does not have any coin mech and is set on free play.

Has anyone had any similar issues and does anyone have any suggestions what may cause this problem?

Regards

Gordon.

Hi
I had similar problems with a rockola 477 where it would only play one selection at a time and not keep the song titles in memory, the logic also passed the test outlined in the manual, for me anyway replacing the logic board sorted the problem, i happened to get one fairly cheap, if i had to do it again i would replace the main chip, there seems to be a pattern of faults with the newer Rockolas such as your problem and problems with the profit setter

Hi Clones,

Thanks for your reply.

I had the same thoughts but have been unable to find a replacement logic board and doubt if the chips are available.

I'll keep looking.

Gordo..

Hi
Just can't remember where i bought it from, but will try to find out and get back to you. With the earlier electromechanical models there's some hope for reviving them but with the newer models it gets more complicated(to me anyway) when there may be an ic fault
