rockola 445 selector buttons won't work

i have a 445 that will not work when you push the selector buttons. the record carriage won't rotate when they are pushed. i can operate the machine manually. as you can tell i don't know much about this. any ideas for a simple person

do the buttons lock in when they are pressed in, they should be held in by the lockbar solenoid, it may be that the the switch blades are dirty and not making proper contact in order to start the selection process, the contacts need to be cleaned. Also lube the joints of the lockbar solenoid its movement might be a bit slow if there is old grease there. Also the contacts on the individual keys may be dirty and would then need cleaning, the keyboard would need to be removed and cleaned with an Ammonia solution and rinsed thoroughly, this is covered in previous posts. Also check that everything is plugged in and all plug contacts are clean. Check that the keyboard is getting power Also check the write in motor for power, motor might be gummed up and check write in relay and contacts, and fuses as well
