Difference between the Wurlitzer 2300 and 2304?

by Umrswimr » Wed Jun 13, 2007 4:22 pm

I'm looking to buy my father a service manual for his jukebox in the hopes that he'll actually get around to restoring it. :D

As best I can tell, it's a Wurlitzer model 2300 or 2304. My confusion stems from the lack of clearly visible differences between the two (and my hazy memory of what it looked like when it actually DID run 20 years ago). Unfortunately, the service manuals are different for the 2300 than the 2304, so I want to make sure I order the correct one. Tracking down the back of the jukebox to find the serial number is, unfortunately, not entirely possible at the moment.

Help?

Hi,

From what I can see in my book the difference in the 2300, 2304 and 2310 is the number of selections. I assume the following 2300 (200) 2304 (104) and 2310 (100).
They were made in 1959 and the model number would be followed by a M or a S to indicate Mono or Stereo.

Hi, just a word of caution when restoring your jukebox. That particualr model had a design fault in the hinged top lid. Because there is only one hinge stay supporting the lid, many of these machines had a tendancy to crack the top chrome casting as this was a weak point. I think they added a 2nd support stay for the next model/year.

Good luck
