Hi, I picked up a shell of a jukebox (still has some usable cabinet parts, but missing most everything inside), but am not sure of the exact model of Seeburg that this is? The top looks like a 100C, but the grill is different, and I can't find an exact match.

Anyone recognize what model this is?

That is either a C, G, or W, with an aftermarket "cabinet update kit" attached. If you really care, look for the animation parts remaining on the floor of the cabinet (screw holes for mounting motor)-- If there, it was a C, if not, a G,or W . I have seen that kit, and the one Rob posted before-pretty sure the one Rob posted, was the "WICO" version--don't know who's version yours is--Ron Rich

Ron, that is a "C". the keyboard layout and casting is totally different beginning with G-W, etc.

WICO made a bunch of these hack-up kits and saw the hapless machines at shows from time-to-time.

I could understand getting rid of the grill glass in the C and R, but these rest of these things are just awful and ruin the value of the machine.

Thanks for all of the responses, that's very helpful! I didn't realize that companies made "kits" like that to modify the cabinet.

Anyway, this particular machine is too far gone to try and fix, but it does have some useful parts left!

This "flat top" actually became fairly popular among operators who wanted to continue using Seeburgs after they stopped making 200's in 1958. In the late 70's I was offered three of these and even in the late 80's at least one was still operating as a hideaway in a large restaurant in New Jersey. That one may have been there well into the 1990s.

WICO, sold the "update kits", to the operators, by asking "Why buy a new Jukebox" ? They made such claims like "all Jukes look pretty much alike, so if you use an update kit, your average location owner will think it's a new phono"-- ( Max {Wischer?} was a really good salesman---nice guy too--) Ron Rich

Wico had those kits in the catalogs listed as "Re-styling Kits". Not only did they make them for jukeboxes, but they also did them for vending machines (cigarette and candy).
