1966 Magnavox Astro-Sonic Stereo

by Steelem1 » Tue Feb 04, 2014 1:38 am

Just picked up a 1966 Magnavox Astro-Sonic Stereo at a thrift store for ten bucks! Didn't know if it worked, plugged it in and the radio works perfectly, turntable spins, but there's no needle.

I unscrewed the cartridge and here's the info on the bottom (Mcd 2 1930-01). Don't know what needle to purchase and how to install.

Can anybody help me with this?? I'm excited to start my record collection.

Thanks! Appreciate it.

Go to http://www.needles4jukeboxes.com You will see a note about "sister sites"-- click on the one for turntables, and he should have it--
Would strongly suggest that you do not leave that ( and/or ANY "electronic equipment) plugged in when you leave the room--"Old electronics" tend to "go up in smoke" when not used for long periods of time !! Should be checked by a qualified person first---Ron Rich

See "Required Viewing" and "Please Read".
EDIT: These two items are located above in this section of the forum.
