Howdy everybody,

I purchased this awesome Magnavox Astro Sonic 1P3632 console stereo (in maple color)from an estate sale, and I've been on a quest to learn all I can about it!

One thing I'm missing is the original manual. Not the service manual, but the user manual.

I located the service manual for the turntable (the W801) and also for the stereo unit (R222). I found the original advertisement in an old 1969 Magnavox catalog, where it was advertised at $298.50.

But the user manual escapes me!

A lot of these types of things are posted in PDF format at the Yahoo! Magnavox Friends site.... I've posted photos of my unit there as well (including the inside).

This is very similar to the 13612 Colonial (1968) that shdwgrymetgt posted this weekend, with the exception that you have two lids, and the newer turntable is on the left. Check out his For Sale post. Sometimes, cabinets are used for several years with slight modifications, but inside components may be different.

A user manual just covers the basic operation of the unit and any accessories that may be available (additional speakers, 8-track/cassette/reel-to-reel decks, dealer service), and one manual could cover several units while others may be more specific. Maybe try Sams Photofact or AG Tannenbaum. --BB
