What controls selection speed on wurlitzer jukeboxes?

Some random thoughts for the day. I personally have seen 2 wurlitzer 2000 juke boxes side by side that were completely gone through, cleaned, and refurbished back to working order. What's strange is on jukebox #1, if you get A then the number 1, bang! it would activate a pin just like that! Literally instantaniously.
The 2nd 2000 that was next to it, if you pressed A, then hit the number 1, it would go "zzzzt" for about a half to full second, then activate the pin and take off.
Is this an adjustment in the stepper somwhere? keyboard? Or is it just a matter of one having healthier plunger coils on the selector ring? Does anyone know if there's such thing as a "selection dwell" that can be adjusted on these machines?
Just curious.............
