Sorry Ron just reread this post and went huh. I'm using a multi meter. So unless we aren't talking the same thing I don't see how you can test a switch without a meter to see if the contacts and internals are working. I just had said that I was testing to see if I was getting current across the switch. Was hopping you knew how much voltage I should have to the switch.

It is the left side switch on the selector that has a problem. Spring isn't working correctly. I've patched it but will start looking for a replacement. Now it will scan but wont select a record so on to the next step. Also found that most of the service notes are missing from my manual.

The switches on most Seeburgs, and other brands of jukebox, "go to ground". There is no good way to use a meter on them to judge if they are passing current. If you are using an (GOOD) analog type meter, you can get somewhat of a "test" on the ohms scale, Rx1 setting, with the power OFF. A "good contact" will show zero ohms, and will not "bounce" as it "follows through". A little "experience" with YOUR meter is required ! Most digital type meters are "too fast" to make a judgement of this type--especially an "autorange" type. Ron Rich

I see , good to know. I use 2 meters one 20 year old fluke and an even older triplett model 630-na that the battery died in today. I'm by no means a pro with ether one in the sense that I was taught how to use one 25 years ago and have retained enough memory to not blow them up.
