Seeburg SL-2 FYI

I have been looking at a unit that is up for auction at this link:

In the second row the 4th picture fro the left is a picture of the ID tag that looks original to this untrained eye. Unless this one is the one in your above discussion ot a few people had phoney ID tags made up it appears there is a Seeburg Model SL-2?

My book from Always Jukin' identifies it ias a 1948 SICM (Seeburg Industrial Commercial Music) which does not appear anywhere on the ID tag.

Yep, you got me, as you are both correct ! --SL-2 --but that's not a "Jukebox", it's a "home/office" record player---of which I have had very little to do with--

They had one that allegedly belonged to Frank Sinatra on eBay for close to $200,000.00, don't know if it ever sold.

Technically you are correct that it is not a "jukebox". Dictionary.com gives this as a definition
" noun
1. a coin-operated phonograph, typically in a gaudy, illuminated cabinet, having a variety of records that can be selected by push button."

Not so sure I agree with the "gaudy illuminated cabinet"

I think that's an SL-1. I know it plays 78's and am about 99% sure it was in Frank's house--also about 99% sure I know what he paid for it----nada !
And BTW--you must have an old dictionary--as of about 1977there was this little thing called the Borne (international copyright) convention.
The US, as well as most countries signed it--and it defines a "jukebox" something like this--An electrical/mechanical reproducer of sound which is operated by money, and individual select-ability of the music. I don't recall any "cabinet" specifics being mentioned, but I have not read it since about 1979--
