Upcoming radio performance.

by sentjourn » Tue Sep 19, 2006 4:44 pm

On Tuesday Sept. 26th I will be making a guest appearence on The Old Phonograph Record Program on WFMU 91.1 F.M. in New York. The host Mike ("Mac") Cummella features only acoustic records played on original wind up machines just the way Grandma & Grandpa heard them. No enhancement or electronic gimicks. He winds up the old phonograph, sticks a mike in front of it and that's it. The show will broadcast live from 7:00 - 8:00 P.M. and will be simulcast on the web at http://www.wfmu.org and will also be archived so you can listen at any time at wfmu.org/playlists/ap . This will be my second appearence on this very different show dedicated to preserving the old sounds and introducing them to a new generation. Listen in and let me know what you think.

Hi Sentjourn,

I'm kinda late reading this message but I tried to find the show in the archive of WFMU, and found it! It's a very interesting show and fun to hear a PhonoLand visitor on radio *cheer*!

Marcel, If you go back to the April 25th show, that is also me. I don't know of any other show like this one where they play original records and cylinders on the original acoustic wind up machines. If I had my way "Mac" would be on seven nights a week.
