Where does this brush go?

While reconditioning my HMV 101 portable I came across this "Kle-Nit", small, mountable brush. It fell out of the horn when I was cleaning it!
How does this brush work? Where does it mount? Is it worthwhile using?

Yes it is a screw, looks like it would go somewhere on the reproducer to clean the record as it plays.

I have a little brush on a round sprung wire that fits in the back of a VTMCo. No.2 but this one here is very odd. From the photo I can't quite get a mental fix on all the angles of it.
Can you pivot the brush? I would guess, and guess is the operative word here(!)
That it must clamp onto either the Sound-Box or the Taper-Tube behind it. Although it doesn't look like the prongs can open wide enough to fit over the Taper. Look for any scoring on the goose neck or reproducer. If that think was used on that phonograph there may be some evidence, it doesn't look like ther was ever any padding or cushioning to any surface from those clamping teeth.

I have one of those too. It clamps onto the soundbox, and you can adjust the brush with the other screw. I have mine on my zonophone, but don't really use it. It's on there more for show than anything.(and so I don't loose it!)

BINGO!!!! I had thought of that but then figured that the prong would damage the diaphragm. COOL!

Finally it all makes sense! I would have thought it would be more usefull brushing up-stream of the needle though. Thanks for the photo.

Would it fit behind the needle bar?

Even as it's situated now it still sweeps a few grooves to the left of the needle, so it'd get to them first.

No John. The arms of the clamp are about 3 times as wide as the needle bar.

Shane,
I think you misunderstood me. I don't mean on the needle-bar but on the reproducer behind the needle-bar. I noticed after that post that you would have to take the brush part off and mount it on it's "track" the other way 'round so I think probably not.
It is a neat little gizmo!!!
