I neet to check with a couple people who own a Seeburg 'B' jukebox . I need you to remove a record or 2 to see if it cancels the empty record spot . The answers below were not clear to me .

Hi Ron . I like to visit and ask some questions on internet forums when i have a couple simple questions instead of just buying books . Isn't that what these forums are for ?
I have restored some 30 jukeboxes from the 30's to the 80's and have not ordered any manuals yet .
So i guess this is normal for this machine . Strange

I'm curious--why do you think a guy like me, who has 4-5 thousand dollars worth of Service Manuals, on my shelf, should look up something for "free" ? My feelings are, if you are un-willing to purchase your own, and read them, 1. you will never learn too much--and 2. some of what you "learn" here, and elsewhere, is not true--which can wind up costing you much more then the price of a manual-- I make an effort to help--for free--but I won't/can't, hold anyone's hand--

it won't cancel if the clamp arm contacts are closed

That makes zero sense to me--the center blade of the clamp arm switch should be wired in parallel to the "cold" contact, of the end of record switch. The other two blades on the clamp arm switch and the one remaining on the end of record switch, are connected to the chassis ground -- A ground "signal" from any one of those switches, should trigger the cancel coil ( providing that the mechanism is in, or going into, play position) ?
Did you just obtain this phono, or is this something "new--it pulled" ?
